Construction Site Project Manager/Site Superintendent Urban Coast Developments is looking for full time project managers/site superintendent for multiple projects sites in the Fraser Valley & Greater Vancouver.
Urban Coast is a family owned company which focuses on building new construction detached homes, multi-family condos, high-rises and town-home communities. Projects range from $30 million to $150+ million.
We’re looking for Project Site Super/Managers to join our Construction team. You will manage multiple projects to ensure that they are effectively constructed on budget, on time, and per quality expectations. To do this well, you will need to build relationships with all project stakeholders (staff, trades, consultants, inspectors, etc.), efficiently coordinate work activities, and correctly communicate project information to appropriate people.
Please only apply if you have past experience and knowledge with new construction as in six story condos/three story townhomes and high-rise developments. Also if you are ok to travel on a daily basis to Chilliwack/Abbotsford/Langley/Surrey/Vancouver.
Key Qualifications:
· Post-secondary education in a construction-related area
· 5+ years of experience in construction, ideally as a site supervisor/project manager
· Experience managing multi-family construction projects
· Brings an established base of industry contacts
· Knowledge of scheduling concepts
· Knowledge of accounting
· Knowledge of the BC Building Code and municipal building bylaws
· Knowledge of construction plans, building layouts, etc.
· Strong team leadership and negotiation skills
· Strong customer service skills
· Strong organisational skills
· Strong oral and written communication skills in English
· Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Windows, Office, and other applications
Key Duties:
· Oversees projects from start-to-finish, ensuring that projects are on budget, on time, and on scope
· Executes project setup including resourcing, scheduling, and budgeting
· Schedules and runs project start-up and site setup meetings to communicate schedules, create mutual goals, and establish guidelines and communication rhythm
· Identifies project risks (probability and impact) and creates plans to manage them
· Coordinates project stakeholders (staff, trades, consultants, inspectors, etc.) to ensure they are doing the correct work within Essence’s standards.
· Answers all stakeholder (internal and external) phone calls, emails, voicemails, or other methods of communication in a timely fashion.
· Routinely visits project sites, looking for potential non-conformance and/or deficiencies, maintaining contact with staff, and ensuring that procedures are being followed
· Addresses and/or escalates issues accordingly (i.e. site problems/delays, challenges with trades, failed inspections, safety incidents, etc.

Job Duties:
Consult blueprints, designs, and client instructions to develop construction plans for your team
Manage construction sites, ensuring that workers adhere to construction plans and safety codes
Create and enforce employee schedules and construction timelines
Document all costs and ensure that expenses never exceed the construction budget
Update clients on construction progress through presentations and client meetings
