We are currently seeking to add a Pea Protein Plant Operator to our team at our Pea Protein Plant in Cut Knife, SK.
POSITION SUMMARY
As a representative of Agrocorp Processing Ltd., the Pea Protein Plant Operator is responsible for participating in the day-to-day operations of the plant, while maintaining efficient production in desired quality and quantity. The position works with the shift/team in achieving key performance indicators for safety, environment, quality, customer service and cost control.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Regulation & Quality Control:
Ensure production is in accordance with regulatory requirements
Ensure work is completed within standards that meet safety, regulatory compliance, environmental, quality, customer service, and cost controls
Always follow good manufacturing processes, meeting industry regulations and equipment protocols
Practice quality control protocols upon at all phases of production and shipping and receiving
Report issues any opportunities for improving quality control
Safety:
Participate in all pre-shift and other safety meetings
Communicate, document, and control hazards, as instructed
Report all incidents to Shift Supervisor or Plant Manager
Thoroughly investigate and document all incidents
Only conduct tasks on which instruction and training have been provided
Attend all required safety training and keep all certificates current
Wear personal protective equipment when on duty
Teamwork:
Work proactively with the team on receiving deliveries, shipping products, and communicating key information
Foster a team culture by sharing knowledge with team members and providing and receiving constructive feedback willingly and openly
Inform the team of any issues that would affect operations immediately
Provide quality customer service to vendors and truck drivers and promote the Agrocorp brand during customer interactions
Identify opportunities for process improvement
Plant Operations & Maintenance:
Keep plant clean and organized through daily cleaning and upkeep
Report any equipment deficiencies and mechanical issues immediately to Shift Supervisor
Carry out regular maintenance, inspection, and cleaning, as directed
Carry out change over procedures
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Prior experience working in food processing plant operations is considered an asset
Experience and/or understanding of the grain commodity industry is considered an asset
Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
Strong time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
Excellent internal and external customer service
Strong communication and organizational skills
Must be able to work individually and as part of a team
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Must be able to safely lift 23 kgs (50 pounds);
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, squat, and climb ladders and stairs several times a day;
Must be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions throughout the year.
