McCormick Canada is currently looking to hire a Product Manager to join our Marketing team for a 12-month contract. This position can be located at either our London, ON or Mississauga, ON location. This role is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing plans for product segments that support market share, sales volume and profit objectives.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Accountable for overall P&L, pricing strategy and budget of product group
Manage product life-cycle including SKU rationalization, new product business case development, and commercial strategy, go to market strategy and implementation. Works with global teams and virtual team members to deliver innovation
Closely monitor and analyze sales volume, market share and competition to provide actionable insights and recommendations for improvement
Develop and coordinate consumer activations and creative with internal and external agencies
Lead the development of a comprehensive annual brand plan for presentation and alignment to divisional leadership , identifying pillars for growth and gaining buy in from cross-functional partners.
Monitors execution of annual plans and makes course correction as needed.
Collaborates closely with North American Marketing Excellence team on new products and line extension development, testing, promotions, advertising and public relations
Develop and manage the brand A&P budget
Work with Demand Planning to project accurate volume forecasting, including long term volume projections
Qualifications Required:
University degree in Marketing or Business Management (or related field); MBA is preferred
Minimum of 5+ years of Marketing experience, preferably in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry
Demonstrated relevant skills & results in forecasting, advertising, market research, consumer & trade promotion, P&L management and business planning required
Expertise in syndicated databases, market research, business planning, media planning, finance, promotional activities and consumer communications
Sound understanding of concepts, principles and practices in Marketing and a basic understanding of other areas including Sales, Finance and Supply Chain
In-depth understanding of how own area integrates with cross-functional teams such as Sales.
Understanding of the industry sector and competitive landscape
Strong written and verbal communication skills and developed diplomacy skills required to guide, influence & convince others; strong relationship with Sales and external customers and agencies
Financially savvy, with ability to manage cost centers, negotiate services and associated fees
