Due to continued growth, we are adding a Senior Buyer to our team. The Senior Buyer will provide day to day support and leadership while building relationships to ensure that the organization’s needs, and goals are proactively met.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Utilizes planning and organization to maximize time as it applies to shipping & receiving and staging of all shipments.
· Oversees the daily activities of the warehouse area, including labor, scheduling, and space utilization.
· Orders through approved suppliers
· Sources and develops relationships with new suppliers.
· Orders, records, monitors, and allocates inventory.
· Establishes minimum thresholds of all inventory items.
· Preparation and completion of supplier agreements (including KPI metrics)
· Ensures client requirements are met by overseeing receiving, storing and shipping.
· Documents all shipping orders and adheres to company policy and client specifications.
· Inventory management and participates in inventory process – investigates count variances to understand the cause and implement corrective actions.
· Provides leadership and direction for all operations in the areas of fulfilment and shipping.
· Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting: orders, sales, fulfilment rates, margin, etc.
· Provides general office support including to but not limited to answering calls, scanning, filing, uploading of files into company’s data system, etc.
· Liaise with accounting department regarding purchases, payment methods, terms, etc.
· Actively participates in process analysis and improvement activities.
· Adheres to current and future company policies and standards to ensure a safe and agreeable working environment.
Top candidates for the Senior buyer role will have the following:
· Post-secondary degree in Business or equivalent is considered an asset.
· 5+ years’ experience in a supervisory role, preferably in inventory control or similar
· Ability to set priorities and undertake multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
· Strong analytical and excellent problem-solving skills
· Excellent communicator (written and verbal)
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Proficient with MS Office
· Entrepreneurial spirit
· Preference given to those with advanced experience with QuickBooks.
