Job Summary
Performs technical tasks in the conduct of in vivo research studies or support services in accordance with good animal welfare practices. Prepares, collects and records research data and specimens in compliance with applicable regulations and SOPs.
We are seeking a Senior Technician for our Toxicology department site located in Laval (Greater Montreal area) in Canada.
The following are responsibilities related to the Senior Technician :
Work closely with Team leaders in all aspects of the assigned studies;
Prepare all phase of the study without supervision;
Perform all routes of sampling and dosing (including infusion);
Operate, understand and program very specialized equipment (anesthesia machines, microscopes, infusion pumps, x-raymachines, etc.);
Provide training to intermediate and junior technicians in several techniques.
The following are minimum qualifications related to the Senior Technician position :
Collegial Diploma in animal health care or equivalent;
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a GLP laboratory environment;
Strong knowledge of related legislation. principles, practices and procedures;
Reading of english is required. Bilingualism is preferable;
Ability to work under time constraints and adapt to change;
Flexibility to work on changing work schedules (weekend, evening and night shifts).
