The Opportunity: We’re looking for a Solution Architect to join our Information Technology team.

Reporting to the Director, Solutions & Architecture the Solution Architect is responsible for delivering solution architecture, design and develop architect strategies for enterprise technology solutions and applications that supports organizational functions and fulfills business strategic goals. The incumbent will analysis various business requirements, make appropriate technology choices, determine best-in-class implementation, and guide development and integration teams with solution implementation details. In addition, the Solution Architect partner with business stakeholders, solutioning team and other stakeholders, provides leadership and driving technology solutions being implemented incrementally towards the enterprise architectural goals.

What your day looks like:
Be a SME (subject matter expert) responsible for architecting technology solutions using J2EE / .NET, Oracle/SQL, OpenAPI, mobile and cloud-based technologies to solve complex business problems

Proposes solutions architecture to fulfill business objectives, including integration solutions with our partners or with other third-party service providers

Performs assessments and documents current state architecture, and be responsible for solution architecture, software and API specifications, and non-functional requirements

Performs initial design, problem solving and reviews of existing solution architecture. Provide recommendation with detailed solution design to achieve corporate project objectives

Identifies any integration, technology advancement and cost savings opportunities, create technology solution roadmap for enhancing interoperability, standardization, and reuse of enterprise technologies

Performs detail solution architecture and data modelling for extensible and scalable software solutions, with OpenAPI standard, latest cloud technologies and microservices principles

Research and recommend emerging technologies and financial industry solutions that could drive the company’s competitive advantages and provides technology direction and recommendation for changes

As a technical lead in project/product development with agile methodologies, giving technical directions to delivery teams on architecture, integration, and design of complex software

Defines, maintains, and promotes enterprise reusable software components and API services, for building enterprise architecture capabilities and removing technology debts in mind

Requirements

Your experience and skills:
Post-secondary degree in the field of computer science, engineering, or information systems

5+ years of solution architecture and software vendors integration working experience

3+ years of experience in solution architecture and design for API management and development, cloud solution implementation and identity management, in a heterogeneous environment with both .NET and J2EE technology stack

Extensive experience in developing business solution architecture, integration specifications, solution roadmaps other application design artifacts and support documentation

Extensive experience with OpenAPI architecture and SOA principles, and experience in microservice design and API gateway/management implementation

Experience in the cloud-based platform e.g., Azure platform technologies, cloud resources configuration, management, and monitoring. Container technologies, e.g., Docker or Kubernetes

Experience in the latest web development and mobile development technologies, including but not limited to: J2EE/.NET, Oracle, MS-SQL, OpenAPI, OAuth2/OpenID Connect, Angular or React, Node.js, JQuery, HTML5, JSON, XML, XSD, etc.

Solid experience in C#, .NET application development would be an asset

Strong understanding of agile application development processes & practices

Ability to understand technical challenges, identify implications of certain decisions and make educated trade-offs in terms of complexity, depth, or timelines with your team

Ability to present to executives on architecture concepts and design decisions at right level

Exceptional analytical, conceptual, enterprise-minded, and innovative problem-solving abilities

Ability to work independently with competing priorities and driving positive results

Superior written and oral communication skills with various levels of team members

Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset

Experience in wealth management or finance systems would be an asset
